If you can find them ready to go, then would be best way as it is alot of work. I've done mine by using a seat unit from another model and then cutting sections and blending to suit my model bike. I only did this as there is no option to purchase a ready to use solo seat for my model, but if there was I for sure would have not gone through the trouble!

Theres a French shop i linked to in the past that ships to the UK that makes 2 difrent versions of the RS50 1999>2005. one thats fully closed where the seat and glove comparment hatch go (so you need a custom seat and cant get to the oil tank anymore and dont have the glove box anymore) and one that uses the normal seat and glove comparment hatch.

I personally prefer the rear seat
Really? so you prefer the seat (wich you cant use in the UK) over my solo???

how can you not use your seat in the uk lol?

my rear seat is fucked as some idiot painted it to make it look like a solo. i would appreciate if you could point me to where you can buy a solo cowl mate. might try making one out of fibreglass but dunno how good i could get it.

Why the hell would someone paint leather, thats beyond me.

The uk has some stupid laws when it comes to bikes, no tinted visors etc, I dont know why I just prefer the rear seat might have to look into it more

Can't take passengers on your L licence in the UK, since mostly kids with a L licence ride RS50's over there i dont see any point in the passenger seat and passenger footrests being on there.

That French site i mentioned earlyer doesnt sell them anymore :(

Might have to get a solo down the line, who would ride a rs50 with a passenger anyway

Here is what my "homemade" single seat looks like on my model bike. Also designed a lower profile front fairing and carbon bracket to complete the look, just need to fit clipons. Maybe see if the single seat unit for the 125's is close or even the GP125s and modify it to work for your model bike?

RS125 99>05 rear cowl and seat are exactly the same as for the RS50 99>05 so the the mono tail of a RS125 99>05 fits a RS50 99>05... that is if you can find one with out the Y-pannels attached as there difrent for the 125 and cutting them off so they fit onto your Original Y-pannels might seem an option, but usualy they didnt mold exact enough for it to fit that way.

Well I have had my full licence for 9 years and have a rs50 so I can take a passenger if I want lol bike would hardly move though, also the rear peg hanger is where the exhaust is secured too.

The bike would be super slow

Never had the problem with mine wen i had a passenger on the back... needed to be carefull with the throttle though or it would lift the front wheel of the ground and flip the bike if the passenger wasnt prepaired.

So thats an other reason why i went for a Solo tail, no more people asking me for a ride on the back somewhere.
