So my engine is running a little rich it seems like. I pulled the spark plug and it was oily and black and all that jazz. How would I go about leaning it out a wee bit?

if you premix in some extra oil that will lean out the A/F ratio a little bit but your best bet is to go down a size or two on the main

The main what precisely?

The main jet on the carbeurator.

remove the tank, take off the airbox, and pull the carb off. Turn it upside down and there will be a black bowl held in by four screws. Remove these, and be careful not to rip the gasket when lifting the bowl. There will be a little screw looking deally bop in the middle (the main jet). Merely take off and replace with a smaller one. (n the top there should be a number, so you'll know which new jets to buy).

good luck

All right, that's what I figured. But thanks for the in-depth reply.
