Hello Everyone,

I am ready to buy my first Aprilia and I said the heck with it and am getting a Factory model! Bone stock with ~1900 miles. I head to pick it up on Saturday.

Just wanted to say Hello, been a longtime fan, hope it provides years of enjoyment! Already have been perusing AF1 Store: frame and axle sliders, 15T sprocket, and probably front and rear stands. Most I have ever spent on a single bike but it isn't any different than buying a new sportbike or anything of the like.

I am going to try really hard to not let the bling factor keep me from riding it like any other bike I have owned in the past. It is what it is right? Meant to be ridden!

Pics to follow if it all works out. It is a 2009 white fluo with red lion (is this proper lingo?) and gold rims, looks like this but with amber signal covers.

Beautiful bike. I wish I had purchased the Factory instead of the "R". It would have saved me a bunch of money that I spent on Carbon and suspension upgrades. You're in for a really great time. I've been riding for over 40 years and nothing gets my heart racing like my Tuono.

X2 on buying the factory over the R - not that I don't lover her. WAFO.

Really got to ride it today, very tight and handles well. I like the sit up and beg body position, definitely geared tall and neutral is hard to find. Hopefully it will get better as it breaks in. 15T in the future and some frame and axle protection.

Forgot to mention.......... this bike is very fun! Lots of laughing in the helmet. I have to be careful on this beast!

Added 15T (15/40) about a month ago, it made a nice difference. However, went ahead and got the 42 rear sprocket this week, installed yesterday and road with 15/42 today. This is the best combination so far, I can actually use 5th and 6th gear on HWY. I found myself in third/fourth gear before at 65 mph. Now it feels geared more like my old SV but with gobs more power and torque, YIKES!! :-D I suspect this is how Aprilia intended the bike to be.

dunno, i only have the 15/40, and i ride mostly at 80mph (in 6th) on the frwy, which puts the rpms at 5k, feels right to me.

Skimmer,

I just picked up a 2008 Tuono Factory last week. What are some of the good roads in the area? I've not had a bike here before.

Good question. I'm relatively new to the area but have heard of areas like Pungo. Friends from work ride country roads in NC. I think if you head west and pick up some backroads it won't be too shabby. Honestly I have mainly just commuted since arriving.

Your gonna love the T Factory. I just added the Power Commander V and a set of Delkelvic 14 inch stainless ovals. They just soft mapped the PCV and it no longer stutters. I am not even going to have it dyno'd and remapped because it feels perfect. I added the cf oil, coolant and clutch cable cover/clip. And now my 08 Factory is done. Am amazed at how well the throttle cleaned up with the PCV. You will be too. Enjoy your Ape!

Sorry, forgot to say that I thing neutral is always a little tricky to find! Especially when cold starting. Eventually , I find it but after 3k miles it isn' any easier. Lucky you'll never race a CBR in neutral! Any other gear and you'll smoke them!

Congrats on the new Factory! Very nice. Finding neutral will not get easier but you will learn to manage it. Quick lite TAP from 2 down to neutral seems to work the best. Ride safe and ATGATT
