I've just purchased a 2011 RSV4-R APRC

Has anybody brought into Oz :aussie: an Austin Racing GP2 slip on?

Im curious did you need to pay customs on it and if so how much?

Im tossing up between this and an Akro which I can get cheap off the Importer however I prefer the AR pipe.

Your input would be most appreciated.....

Thanks
Kenne

if you're item is worth less than $1000au then you dont have to pay anything to get it through customs.
greater than $1000au and you have to pay gst on its worth, that's if customs realises it.
if it wasnt illegal i'd reccomend getting the sender to say that its under $1000 on their customs dec, even if its not. but thats illegal so i wont do that

dam you lot are lucky as we only get a limit of $400 here in new zealand. the mongrels just raped me of $182 for a af1 import worth $980nz it kind of takes the shine off the deal but theres no one over here to buy the parts off.

I didnt have any probs or have to pay any extra coin and it was over 1K....

Then again you in Sydney just get Dave (FORZA) at motoitalia and like he said he has one and will be able to unlock ECU for you at same time...

WNFO!!!

Congrats on the purchase, now ride it like you stole it. Spend all the money you can to make it yours. Or at least until the wife, GF or bank says STOP because were out of money!!!!

Exhaust systems are subject to duty and GST no matter the cost.
You can find the info on the customs web-site.
The way around this is to get it through the post and keep the cost under $1000, this way I've had no problem.
DON'T use a freight fowarder, I got slugged all sorts of fees and charges.
I've brought exhausts in both ways and the post worked best for me.

FORZA's deal sounds not too bad to me, I'd probably go that way.

Yep, they are a seperate tariff code when bringing pipes than general parts.

USPS is very good & reliable, though I got some stuff FEDEX & they got it through customs the same day where it can take a week or more doing it myself.

Yeah I found USPS to be very good, FEDEX collected the duty before they would hand over the pipe for my Husky, think it was $125 tax on a $500 pipe.

If you buy the factory accessory Akra slip-on, they package it with the unlock code. Otherwise, order a race ECU from AF1.

If I knew that Dave had them, I would have bought mine from him. Seriously $1000 bucks for a GP2 is a great price. And is the same as anywhere else IMO.

Wish I knew Dave. Anything else I buy I will give you a call fist.
