I own the Evo2, there is a crossover pipe between the front and rear header pairs. There is a noticeable bump in torque midrange. Not that we are hurting for midrange but it's nice to have.

Really? You know someone that can weld Titanium? That's a sweet hookup.

Titanium welding requires a locally inerted atmosphere. Usually takes special flood rigs to keep ambient air from ruining the weld. That's part of the reason the Akrapovic exhausts are so bad-ass. Simply immaculate Ti welds...

A friend of mine (professional welder) has a special torch for welding in an inert atmosphere (argon);
the problem is to get the fill material: aluminum or steel can be easily found, not titanium....

Do you know or can you tell if the collector will fit onto my headers? And if so can I order just the collector?

Hi Joeh2o and everybody interested,

Im back from track and finaly seen, heard and raced my Ape w/ Aprilia Akra EVO2:D
So, regarding sound - its deeper and nicer as stock, but not sure if louder. Probably not, but I love it. Especially between 8000 - 10000 rpm is beutiful.
But, what is more important, is bike behavior. I dont know if it is Akra or RACE map or together, but throttle respose is very improved, acceleration is noticable improved. Actually, is improved as much as my gearing is not enough for finish strait. Have 15/42, before Akra/RACE map on the same track was OK, now I hit rpm limiter on 6th gear almost each time... Anyway, Im very happy w/ this modification and results I got - are even better as expected. In next days will weight stock exhaust and post numbers to complete my comparison.

Thanks a lot for reporting I'm happy for you that the sistem works well.
I heared an evo II last week (without DB killer) and, for me, sound is louder than the stock exaust.
Enjoy.
