I just ordered a set of SS hose clamps for the scooter from AF1 but I'm not too motivated to also buy the Oetiker Pliers since once I switch out the clamps I'll never need the pliers again.

So just wondering if any here have found other tools and/or developed any techniques that can be used to remove the OEM hose clamps? I think I remember someone posting they had success with hooked needle nose pliers but I couldn't find that thread with a search.

the tool AF-1 sells is the Oetiker tool for eared hose clamps
http://www.af1racing.com/store/Scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=8556

this is not the correct tool, the one below is the tool for real Clic-R clamps is here, it installs and removes them;
http://www.google.com/products?client=opera&rls=en&q=clic-r+tool&oe=utf-8&um=1&ie=UTF-8&ei=wfvJS-qjCY6IsgPI8piTAw&sa=X&oi=product_result_group&ct=title&resnum=3&ved=0CBoQrQQwAg

unfortunately, Aprilia uses bogus copies of Clic-R clamps

what can i say:rolleyes:
