whats the tank range on the 1200 like i love my 750 dd but only get 75/80 miles till the light comes on is the 12 better dont wont to get a 12 and find the exta cc eat the bigger tank

Dont think anyone has got the 12 yet so its unknown in real world situations. It's a bigger tank so theoretically there would be more miles before the light but couldn't tell you how much

The DD 1200 has a 15 liter tank.

1200 has a bigger tank but will prob not do the same mpg?

Our first Dorso 1200 went out last week - Knowing the owner, it should be in for first service very soon. I will try to think on when I see him to get an answer for you.

You want to ride one of these beasts - That 1200 motor is fantastic. It took three members of staff to do the PDI test ride - each came back with lockjaw from grinning so much! And that is with the ECU limiting it to 6500rpm.

We have ordered another already which will be going on as a demo. If anyone is even vaguely thinking of one, find your nearest demo and try it - you will not be dissapointed.

I will have to tell my buddy.
He was wanting to buy a 750 from AF1 beginning this year but had to use the money for something else so he is projecting for the end of summer.

I've done 400km. I'm getting around 200km per 15 l tank.. 7.5l / 100km

yes probably 115miles per tank when the rev limiter get lifter after 1000km

my fuellight goes on after max. 125km, but most of the time earlier! so it is pretty thirsty.. last few times i went for fuel i was arround 8-9l/100km. (on very twisty mountain-roads :banana: ) i have to say that on such funny roads i got the ATC turned off and the throttle in "S" mode. :devil:

my DD now has 1700km on the clock, but havent done the first maintenance yet. maybe its a bit better after it. ill see.. going to bring it to the dealer this wednesday, and switch to a tuono V4 ;) i hope :)

it also smells pretty hard! maybe the engine runs "fat".. that would explain the higher fuel consumption. maybe its better after the first maintenance..

btw, the 6000rpm-limiter was gone after 500km.

after all, that bike is pure porn! :D

getting 90-95 miles on my 1200 during break-in before the lo-fuel light comes on. Takes 3 gallons to re-fill it. Looks like about 120 miles + - before flameout.

Now that the beast is broken-in and loosened up; with mixed around town and highway riding, some stop and go, getting 33-35 mpg average on the 1200.
Enough for 130-140 miles until empty.

My KTM 990 SMR returns about the same fuel consumption.

7.0L/100kms around town, 6.25L/100kms on the highway, 7.0L/100kms riding it hard.

So the DD1200 is not to bad.

Moer dors my tjom, managed to get it to do 96 kays fuel light to fuel light last weekend erm, that's just under 60 miles on the main fuel, but I wasn't exactly behaving myself :devil:

If I keep it in T and ride like a gent, about 140 kays between fuel lights.

:soap: Is it just me, or does every bike need a fuel guage? and a temperature guage . . .

My CBRs measured temerature in 0.5 degree increments, fuel guages were basic bar graphs, but still I wanna see how far I am from reserve, I really don't want to be told "Reserve" 2KM or 4KM remaining for the next 50 kays . . .

It's fine for the 1st world, but South Africa is kinda the anus of pretend developing nations, as far as fuel stations go. There are actually places that don't have unleaded yet (15/20 years later) and at some you actually have to pay with money :WTF: Who buys anything with money? That's asking to be robbed . . . I have 4 cards in my wallet, 1 says Discovery Health, 1 says Drivers License, 1 says Visa Card, and 1 says Petrol Card. I have 20 bucks to pay for parking, usually . . . That wouldn't even make the R light go off with South African petrol prices \ :soap:

I'm just saying a fuel guage would be nice . . .

Lanie, "dis moerse Dors" my DD1200 religously gets 126km before the warning light comes on and with a litre of fuel in the bag in case, I got 175km before it started stuttering (agressive riding for most part). so if you like to spare the front tyre for two seasons then dont bank on much more than 170km before you get very serious about finding a fuel station.
