This one is for a buddy. He wants to use it for school because parking is a bitch in San Francisco.
I let him ride mine and now he wants to go big so I told him I'll hook him up with a kit, pipe and carb and he should be happy.
The bikes at my shop for all the tlc it needs for now. Later we'll hook up the kit but he'll ride stock, well, I already got him 10 more mph so he'll be happy.
I cant believe these carbs have no needle. ha ha ha ha aaahaaaahaaah aaaaaaaaah thats funny.

I can't believe how clean the RS50's are over your end. I think you should start an importing business where you import them over to us. i would have one LOL

That bike is say 10 years old now?

A bike of that age over here would be FUCKED!

Mine WAS in condition better than that actually. I suffered from OCD when I owned my RS lol.

Seriously though, you wouldn't believe how much these guys in the US take care of these little 50s.

We love our bikes here. We take care of them like children. I was getting yelled at by Mrs dan for using good house towels to cover my bike and when she asked "why" I replied" Because of the dust particles in the air". Is that love or what.
When I clean my wheels, I take them off so I can get in everywhere.
All of my friends are the same way with their bikes.
We call it BLING BLING here in California.
Now if I could just find some chrome spinners for my wheels????????

On this end of the pond I think these bikes get used more by people who look at them as a cool toy to add to the collection and less of a daily driver where they would get all beat up. The one I recently got was in almost exactly the same shape ('01) and the other one the guy had was even nicer. Both of them had under 1000 miles on the clock. As it stands now I have only put about 6 miles on mine in the 4 months or so that I've had it

21mm carb with a filter for now
13 tooth front sproket with stock rear

New ignition, tank cap and seat lock- 1 key fits all
New clutch lever
New fluids
Nice set up he has now.

Thanks to TT for hooking him up with all the parts.

dropped off the bike and he was really happy. He went straight up the steepest hill in San francisco and the bike pulled his ass all the way up no problems.
I love it when thw modds work out great.

After listening to Choy complain about how slow his bike is I hooked his ass up with modds and his bike runs fast and great.
So he goes out enjoying how fast his bike is now and gets a SPEEDING TICKET.
He called me to tell me that his bike is fast and how the price of the bike, reg and parts have all added up. Well Choy now add the price of a speeding ticket too.
Good times here in California, thats all.

I posted the recorded speed (by unmarked copcar) somewhere else here recently and got a remark from someone about 16 year olds telling lies... :p:

Here is a picture of the road i got busted on:
http://www.flatvalley.nl/oostvaarders/oost11.jpg

Verry nice road to test your topspeed on, only trouble is the cops know it also and your basicly garanteed to come accross one if you go for a drive there :(

DanHam
03-25-2010, 02:43 PM
OMG ~ I'd love a road like that here. I bet you can't see one end of the road from the other due to the curvature of the earth.

They should close that road more often for some top speed runs

Patrick - PM me the speed if you would? :)

RS_Patrick

12.5km/7.75mi perfectly straight flat tarmac from that bend in the foreground to the next bend like it and than an other 3.5km/2.2miles of straight after that till the next bend like it, than a few more bends and straights so no wonder the cops patrol it that much.

I posted what the whole story here back in 2005 i think so you can look it up...

am i missing something here? why would you need 7 miles to find the top speed on a 50? Although id love to take a 1000 out there for a top speed check. I would think the best road for this bike would be 7 miles with 20+ turns.

Doesnt take 7 Miles to get to that Speed, but its gonna take a good while to get to Top Speed if you got a long gearing.

After that i swaped the gearing for 47T rear (stock size) and 15T front, Was much more fun to drive than, good acceleration and a nice top speed.
