So over on the Tjtuning forums lots of people talk about drilling/modifying the CDI box in the tail section to "derestrict" the bike (one of a few mods). Does this mod hold true to the USA/Canadian models, even though ours are "competition use only"?

thanks!

All i can say, is i have tried this on my 08 which was a restricted model. The 08 (eruo 3) is the first restricted model Australia has ever had. I drilled the ECU and the bike felt exactly the same and only made one noticable difference. The efi light came on and have not been able to get it off at all.

The US bikes should be already drilled from the factory. My CDI still had drill chips on it when I got it. They are probably hand drilled on the assembly line.
