So, we're having our usual spring winds here in Southern NM. Days with winds in the 30-40mph range with gusts around 50mph. I've noticed an issue with the RS that I'd had with a suzuki in the past.

When the wind hits the bike at the correct angle and correct force it bogs the engine like crazy. I think what happens is the airflow in the airbox is disrupted and the bike just bogs down from from lack of air/fuel.

Not a big problem, but something to watch for. It seems to happen when wind is hitting the bike from the "2 o'clock" position. Gets your attention when you're doing 45mph with a SUV on your butt and the engine bogs.

I suspect that pulling the snorkel out of the airbox and re-jetting solves the problem as I haven't noticed it on my race bike that had been modded.

I run an open air filter, and while Arizona wind isn't as bad as New Mexico wind, I haven't had a bogging problem.

The two o'clock wind position aims right into your desnorkled air box.
Def leans you out.
