They are simply meaning for you to use a fuel injector cleaner additive that you put into your gas.

No I haven't done this as I don't have a lot of miles on my scoot yet. But do you think they want you to tear the injectors apart and clean them every 16000 Kms? You are supposed to put fuel injecter cleaners in cars to clean them often, why wouldn't the same apply to a fuel injected scooter?

I have 7300miles on my bike and since I installed my bore kit and saw all that crud in my injector I tear down my fuel rail and clean out my injector every thousand miles. It doesn't take that long and my bike always runs better after I clean that white junk out.

i also tried it:

first time i didnt have the right wrench
the second time i didnt have the right wrench ;)
the third time i didnt know, how to unplug the gass from the injector

so my injector is still filled with all of that filthy white thing :gunner:

Read scootnfasts post on how to install a bore kit, it shows how to dis-asemble all that stuff.
All you need is a torx head screwdriver bit and something to plug your return gas line with.
it's pretty easy. after a thousand miles alot of that stuff had built up again so imagine how clogged up everything must be if you have never done it!!!!

There is no mechanical benefit to your machine in keeping the variator restriction. In fact it is probably kinder on the motor and transmission to get rid of it than keep it.

As for the ignition restriction, you should be well run in by now if that is what is worrying you, but i think you will get most of the gain in normal riding just from the variator.
