Was a waste of time and money. I had a tiny bit of metal powder stuck to the drain plug, but the oil looked like brand new. Almost a shame to throw away that good oil.

not a waste of money at all, you needed to get that cheap italian oil out of the bike sooner rather than later. now you know the quality of the oil you are running.

how many miles were on the bike?

I have 350 km on my 09 and I think it has to go in for its first service at 800-1000 km. Do you guys know what gets done at this first service? Also, when does the piston get replaced the first time.. 8000 km?

Well it looks like there are quite a few things for them to adjust at the first service. Thanks for the info!

So people have gone this far without popping a piston? I take it some have probably even gone further?
