We can get the RS125 Ohlins shock in the USA, its a special order shock and we need to order qty 25 of them to get the ball rolling. We'll stock them and sell to other dealers too. Production takes about 12 weeks.

Start thinking about it, they will normally sell for $919.99, but we will do a super special pre-order price, so we can get most of the 25 shocks pre-sold. 25 shocks is allot to stock especially for this low volume bike.

Fully adjustable, compression, rebound, length, and pre-load

I'll setup the pre-order deal online in a few days with all the details......follow this thread.

I am confused why the shock doesnt appear to have the same mounting bracket [lower] as the stock shock? Is there any type of Gold valve cartrige for the front along with stronger springs?

My bike does feel like a pogo stick under hard acceleration on rough roads.

pic is a generic Ohlins shock picture showing all the features of the real RS125 shock

nothing avail for the forks yet....we had ours all apart, and they are weird inside.....stiffer springs will be tough, one leg is a spring, one side is the damper

changing the fork oil to 15W is a big improvement and is enough IMO, unless you get a cartridge conversion done by the likes of Maxton.

So how much for Ohlins forks? Maybe you should get 25 sets of those as well!

Ed,

I'll take a shock. Thanks.

Price I've seen for Ohlins gp forks that will work is $5K. Not going to be a direct swap either, mods required.

Someone had mentioned a Penske shock at one point.

I'd like to see the pricing on that.

I wish there were a mddle of the road priced shock with full adjustability. $1000.00 is a lot to spend, especially if your not racing.

I've been contacting various dealers about Bitubo shocks.
'Tough to find anything for our bikes here in the states.
All the shipping quotes I'm getting from the U.K. are around $60 gbp ($85 US).

The AF1 Ohlins is waaaaay out of my league.

Victory is mine......

I've found a decent shock for around $500....sprung and valved for my weight and application (track). In the states, no less.

Hagon Shock M68015 - 15 click damping, preload , for another $60 (I think) you can get a remote preload adjuster.

Anyone interested?
Maybe I can work out a group deal?

does that come with the spring, and if so is it matched to my weight?

This shock is supposed to be set up for semi-heavy riders as Ohlins delivers it (spring included) Typical weight field for Aprilia shocks from Ohlins are for roughly 165 to 185 lb riders. This one will probably be good for 175 to 195lb riders with a bit of squeeze possible for riders just barely over that.

Heavier springs will be available in 4-6 weeks.

I got dib on one unit set up for around 220-lbs please!!!

At the risk of sounding sacriligious, I might have to turn this
RS into an objet d'art and park her in my living room on a pedestal.

I've been contacting various dealers about Bitubo shocks.
Biturbo makes great boingy bits BUT they have practically nil for customer service in the US. MaxMoto in San Francisco used to be the distributor but they dropped Biturbo about three years ago. And Micah@AF1 had terrible customer service experience with Biturbo Canada.

So, caveat emptor.

I'd assume maxton would be the suspension to go for seeing as they've been sorting out the superteen fellas for years now. Would be a shame not to sort the forks with a (maxton or otherwise) cartridge kit at the same time as fitting the shock.

Guys,
Why is it you can not find any listing for RS models on the Ohlins site?
You have this shock and does not list at all. Nothing lists under either RS's yet ebay has one for sale:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Ohlins-Rear-Shock-Aprilia-RS250-New-in-Box_W0QQitemZ220427470618QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotorc ycles_Parts_Accessories?hash=item335280471a&_trksid=p4506.c0.m245&_trkparms=65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C72%3A1171%7C240%3A131 8
that lists under the model number but nothing lists under rs250?
Would this work for the rs125?

Prob cos the Ohlins website isnt up to date for every model. Plus i think the RS125 Ohlins shock is at the moment a one off batch, or at laest isnt fully in normal production. The RS250 shock does not fit, ive tried it.

Ummm....I don't suppose AF1 does lay-a way?
:kidding:

I've had 2 expert riders take the RS for some laps at the track. Both of them liked everything about the bike except the suspension. Not enough rebound dampening up front (with 15 wt. oil) and too much compression dampening in the rear was their complaints.

Fair enough.
The RS250 shock looked a better shock than the one on offer (no dis respect). If a no go then will have one of the shocks in this order. Steve, please pm me with the details on how you wish for me to do this purchase.
