View Full Version : 34mm carb and manifold

I was wondering if AF1 is going to start stocking the 34mm Delortos and manifolds and perhaps any other performance parts for these bikes? If not I am going to purchase in the UK.

Not yet, I have plans for a carb kit but honestly I prefer the way a Keihin carburetes and tunes to the way Dell'Orto carbs are tuned and the way they respond to the tuning. The two options I am considering are a mild, 34mm PWK and a less mild, a 38mm PWM. Manifolds will probably have to be quite custom.

If you need it soon, get it from the UK and let me/us know how it works, I want to see a few options out there.

Definatly you will need a new intake manifold. Aprilia makes one and apperantly a KTM 125 is exactly the same as well.

you can get the manifold for the 34mm Dellorto from Peter Knight (Rotax.co.uk) in the UK. the 38mm would only be of use with a big bore kit idve thought, but happy experimenting anyway, nice one

Other than the manifold do any other changes( exhaust.reeds etc) need to happen to run the 34mm carb correctly on the usa bikes? thx.

Its not essential to change the reeds, but id highly recomend getting the vf3 reed valve setup, my experience it made the throttle response nice and crispy/instant... well worth the money!

Love my VF3 and 34mm. I just need to take the time to pull the carb apart and check my jets again.

V-Force Delta III reed cage

The initial response (based on our dyno work) indicates that the stock reed cage is a fairly big restriction, the Delta IIIs do improve torque throughout the rev range, but particularly in the middle.

My RS125 would run an Arrow exhaust (http://www.af1racing.com/store/Scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=6883) and V-Force Delta III reed cage. And probably a pneumatic powervalve, as the stock CPU gives a signal to close the powervalve at around 11,500 rpm effectively acting as a rev limiter.
