I have an 06 sr50 factory ditech. I want to get a 70cc cylinder kit. How do I know if I have a piaggio or an aprilia engine. Does this matter when choosing either the polini or melossi cylinder kits? Thx, noob.

Aprilia (Moroni) motors are in the 06 and up, right? US models.

Malossi is ALOT better. Polini parts suck IMO. Does your SR look like mine in my avatar?

If he bought it in 06 in the US it'd have to be a Morini (provided its not carbed- but if you know what a throttle body looks like that takes about 2 seconds to figure out)

An easier way to know if you have a carb (if non technical) just turn the key but not the red switch. If it says "EFI!" then you have ditech morini (aprilia engine)

Its not a bad little engine... I beat the crapp out of one for 19 000Km... it still turns over on the first try every time...

I also have heard no kind words regarding Polini parts. My mechanic also recommends Molossi.

All the Molossi stuff I've seen is good quality stuff.

How can you tell what type of engine it is without looking at it? Have a look at the FAQ - there is a picture that you can use to visually identify your engine.
