Hi

Avoiding the usual cliches like...

"Are you shearing that sheep?" "NO! Get your own!"

...and also avoiding life's rhetorical questions like, "why do I always get the ugly one?"

...has anyone successfully mounted a RAM GPS thing to a Peg, without it doing the Hokey Cokey all over the place and shaking the GPS to bits??

The vibrations are terrible, and I've tried a few locations on the bike, but all seem to be as bad as each other.

Anyone found a reasonably vibration free mounting point/area/method using the ball on a stick??

oo-er missus

Hi JB

I rode 400 miles yesterday with my Tom Tom Go 300 attached to my Strada bars with the RAM u-bracket. Easy to read - no vibes - and it still works.

Cheers

sounds good - whereabouts do you have it mounted?

Do you mean the centre of the handlebar?

It's mounted on the handlebars next to the top plate i.e. as close to centre as I could get it. I did put a rubber strip on the handlebars before attaching the RAM mount - don't know if that makes any difference though.

JB

yes, just to the right of the wide bit. it's a U lock going round the steering arm. both ends a metal ball with rubber coATING

Thanks, chaps.

I have tried a couple of those positions (oo-er) but still suffer from shakes at idle, to a high pitched buzz at 3-5k or so.

I'll keep trying, as if you guys don't have any problems, it's gotta be me....:ripass:

Quick update for anyone that can be bothered to listen to me waffle on...!

Bought the RAM mount with handlebar clamp

http://www.ram-mount-uk.com/ram-b-149.htm

Fitted in the centre of the bars, between clamps, went for a mosey and it seems to be relatively vibration free.

Result!

Thanks for all the advice and suggestions.:worship:
