Just finished watching the 8 rounds of the WEC (world enduro championships) highlights on www.endurovideo.tv, the rxv450 ridden by Stephan Merriman looked pretty good. I was hoping that someone could report how much the 2008 rxv is improved (it reportedly has many improvments due to comments from Stephan). I saw an article somewhere that Stephan had ridden the big-bang but said that it was very tiring to ride compared to the standard configuration.
BTW, has anybody seen an article on the WEC Aprilias? I would like to learn more about what they are doing to the bikes to make them racable at such a high level.

:plus: I'd like to know also.

here you can read a rider report of a standard RXV 450/550 (08):

Yes the difference between the 08 450 and 550 has grown, and between the 07 450 and 550 it was minimal, the major difference was that the 450 was more reliable, the 08 450 has become more specialized, where as the 550 is more an all around bike.:cigar:

Thanks for the info, keep it coming please. Sounds like it might steer better for 2008. FWIW, it looks like Stephan did not use the 50mm TC factorcy forks for the north american WEC rounds, but may have opted for 50mm OC forks, possibly Husqvarna TE OEM parts with the Zokes billet clamps. Teh remainder of the team is definitely using Zokes 50mm factory forks, but whether they are TC or OC is hard to tell. Any idea on what shock is being used?

I'll bet it isn't a Sachs.

Or at least not the OEM sachs. Sachs does make good products.
