I don't like top boxes, but the rack that Givi makes to support their top box works just fine as a luggage rack. I recently purchased the SR78 from these guys:

(the picture shown is not the unit shipped, the actual unit is better looking, see below)
$61 plus about $12 shipping. had it in 4 days.

It fits my US Spec 2002 SR50 DiTech with morini engine. Label says it fits from 2001 to 2003.

It provides a nice flat extension to the passenger seat, you retain the grab handle, and it is powder coated, or close to it. Nice piece, looking forward to strapping on my briefcase tomorrow to go to work...

now if I could just find a way to get a factory windscreen...

from the givi dealers in the us i've called, the are no givi rack for the newer sr50 here in the us ... apparently listed in their catalog but only available in europe but not here.

so i ordered an oem aprilia rack for the 05-06 sr50 that apparently is available in the us. cost more ($95), but i was happy to see that it wasn't as big/bulky as the previous racks and installation was easy.

i'll have to take some digital pics and post at some point but it looks similar to your givi sr78 rack, but the rack takes the place of the stock grab bars (uses these bolt openings). just waiting for my top case to arrive, hopefully today.

Local to me I found someone selling a Shad storage box... in looking thru eBay, I also found a guy selling his scoot with one mounted:

Any idea how that was done?

Thanks
