Have seen a few bike helmet communication devices for sale, some bluetooth, others wired... also available with capability to connect your ipod or radio for a bit of background entertainment.

Anyone got one? Is it good or a dangerous distraction? Whats the sound quality like?

I tried one a few years back. Wasn't that impressed with the quality. I've got the ability to connect one into my Autocom system now, but haven't done so, I think it would be too much of a distraction.

A customer of mine uses his mobile on his K1200LT and does rate it though. Just not for me.

One of my other bikes, a GL1500 goldwing has a stereo and intercom as standard. I also have an Ipod with ITrip, a hands free kit, CB radio and Garmin satnav on the bike. All of these can put sound through the intercom system to the speakers in th ehelmet I use on this bike.
Is it a distraction, not really if used on motorways etc. There isnt a lot of point on teh twistys as rider concentration means you ignore the music anyway.
