If your in the UK and looking at buying a new 2007 Aprilia Strada or Trail have a look here on Ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270148957104&indexURL=4&photoDisplayType=2#ebayphotohosting
the seller is premierbikes ebay item number 270148957104

If like me you already have a Strada or Trail I hope you enjoy your bike as much as I like mine because with new prices so low they are not worth a lot second hand !

I saw it too, it does seem a bargain, I bought my first Pegaso in '97 and the list price was 4,995 then, I think I paid 4,500.

I think they are just one of those bikes that have always been undervalued, I think the bike press just don't get them, and think that the only single with any cred is the F650GS.

Sneaky 200 OTR charges there...makes it 3895.....Still cheap though. It's not been the best year for selling bikes in the UK though, most bike values, new or used, have taken a hit.

I paid 3950 8 months after haggling with local dealer and complaining about an internet company selling them off cheap.
Aprilia agreed to match the price!
Stonking value!

Same here, I paid just under 4K OTR for a Strada on 0% finance for 2 years.

Looks like this is turning into a what did you pay thread... I looked at two bikes... the beemer 650 Dakar and the Peg 650 Trail, both from dealers, less than a year old and an insignificant amount of mileage.... The Dakar was going for 5,700; I bought the trail for 3,000. Needless to say it wasnt a very hard decision to make in the end. Cracking bike for the money.

This is what I struggle to get to grips with - why would someone pay almost twice as much for a bike which really is no better in any significant way to the Pegaso.

Admittedly, BMW dealer backup and spares supply is better than Aprilia, but you caould afford to put a spare bike in the garage for bits at that money.

I've nothing against BMW - I've got one after all, but having ridden both the 650 BMW and the Peg, the BMW just isn't a better bike, not worse just not better.

Thats exactly what I thought Joe, even though I've got a BMW dealer very close to me which would be very very helpful in the event of a problem, and Aprilia support is practically non existent... it quite simply wasnt worth it.

If my bike is subjected to a catastrophic mechanical demise, I can simply throw it in the bin and buy another nearly new one and still not be out of pocket... how does that figure?
