So far I have fitted an Aprilia luggage rack and to that I have fixed a cheap no-name top-box. The tank bag is an Oxford First Time strap-on and it seems to have been made for the bike. Has anybody any ideas concerning panniers as I do not intend to get stung for the Aprilia ones with the extra cost of the framework. The obvious problem is the high, extremely hot, exhaust and nowhere to fasten the security straps.

I have though about this too Stan. I think that the only way if hard luggage or Aprilia semi-hard. The Aprilia frames are £77 and the bags a whopping £175 each. The Givi PL frames are about £100, and these Givi E21 21lt cases look ideal and only £99.

I can't get the image of just the frames but I found this

The other option is a roll bag on the rear seat, but then again, where do you attach the bungie straps to?

I am considering a Ventura system for a upcoming European trip. Looks good quality and practical with a useful luggage rack. Not cheap though but its only the side bars which are bike specific

If you want i'll take some pics of the Givi frames on mine, those are the panniers I now have on the last Givi link. I used to have the E21 cases but they fill up suprisingly quickly.I'd go for hard luggage every time having tried both types, knowing your stuff's secure is much more reassuring when pressing on.

I have a pair of official Aprilia panniers for my Strada with all the associated framework (they only need two side bars) which I was going to use for touring Ireland with this summer. As I'm not going away on the Strada now I am going to sell them.

I bought then from a non-Aprilia dealer who had taken them off a trade-in bike. I have never fitted them and they are like new and have all the nuts/bolts required. Once the side frames are fitted the panniers can be clipped on and off easily (so I'm told).

I have a PDF copy of the fitting instructions as well. I'm looking for 150 for the lot plus whatever it costs to post them.

PM me if you are interested.

Cheers

OK I can see the practicality of the panniers, but the bike now looks wider then my 1500 Goldwing :)
Still if you need space, then needs must.

I could get my whole possessions in there. They are massive. Extremely well made and great kit. Too big for what I need.

Where are your rack supports?

My rack supports are standard Aprilia ones. There are photos of the same rack in another thread on the forum.
