Went to my Ducati dealer in Melb Aust during the Xmas break to see if he had or have any of these bikes arrived doen under yet ?
The salesman took me out the back and showed me the first bike that had come into the country and as i looked it over i realised how the magazines & pictures on the net are better than the real bike in the flesh.

It looks cheap looking and not as good as the Aprilia in finish & quality as our price over here is $ 26000 as to compete Against the Aprilia RSVR.
I wasn,t realy impressed by the overall look and finish of the Duc but I would have the engine in it as it has more punch than the Aprilia but i can,t wait to what Aprilia brings out next to compete with the Duc , but i,ll say one thing they will sell bucket loads of them because of price , power and name brand.

I just sat on (1098 standard) one here in DC 20 minutes ago. I liked it. Fit and finish looked fine to me. If I can sell the RC for 6-7K, I may get one..

I also sat on the one at the DC show and was very impressed. If I were to get one I'd wait a year or so to see how things go with the new model but I liked it much more than I thought I would. Sitting on it definitely feels different/better than the 999 and maybe even the RSV.

I'm quite lucky to have ridden one!

Friend of mine got one over christmas - he's still running it in but it pulls like a train, sounds gorgeous and it's got lots of fancy features like a smooth gear change and a working back brake!

It's a great bike but it should be for an extra GBP5k above the price of my factory...

If they're already out in Europe, has anyone heard anything bad about them?
