Just got this few days ago...Another Aprilia in my collection :) :plus: The bike is great I am very happy with it, besides the allready mentioned stalling at low RPM. Did hear though that the Yamaha XT is much worst. In any case I hope soon enough Aprilia comes up with some updated sofware version to sort this out.

There will most likely be a recall in the new year - Yamaha are recalling all their bikes with the same throttle position as the Pegaso just now in the UK.

I am seriously jealous of your weather!

Hey Panda,

I've got hswi same issue with stalling, but even more worrying the bike will not restart unless it's in neutral!!!

Big problem if you stall on a busy road and can't find neutral.

How do you know about the recalls?

Will they definitely recall the Pegasos? I've ended up buying a second bike and am currently trying to sell my Peg as I don't feel safe on it.

Aha...I think your bike might be the one thats highlighted the problem.

I was forwarded an email from a colleague who had a bike with the fault you describe. Its really hard to diagnose thats sort of fault, espescially when they are intermittent.

Someone there is sharp and asked Aprilia if they knew if the Pegaso throttle position senser was the same at the XT660 one - Yamaha are recalling them. Aprilia obviously weren't aware of the problem but they eventually got back to him and confirmed its the same part.

I think Yamaha are recalling them as a precautionary measure, Aprilia will have to follow suit. They'll need to order the parts in before they can do anything though...

Thanks Panda - I'll check in with my garage and make sure they keep me in the loop, but if you should hear any more about it, it'd be great if you could let me know.

Thanks!

Regarding the issue with my bike only restarting in neutral, my mechanic said it was to do with dodgy electrics, basically the bike thinking the stand was lowered, thus only allowing the bike to b restarted in neutral.

He disconnected something and now it restarts in gear once it stalls, so at least I don't roll to a hault in the middle of busy roads, but it IS still stalling intermitantly.

The fact that this happend at all should have Aprilia jumping to their feet to fix or replace it - it's sooo dangerous!

Anyhoo, I now have a Buell Lightning CityX and the Aprilia is us for sale - can't ride a bike that I can't trust!
