Just wondering the mpg people are getting from their Stradas, also how many miles do you get roughly from when the bike goes onto reserve until it runs dry?

Thanks.

I'm not 100% certain about my mpg but I guesstimate to be rather low at about 35-40mpg in town, not too good really, one thirsty bike.
From tomorrow I am going to keep a detailed account just to make sure what it really is.

I get roughly 125 miles from full until the light goes on. That's about 12.5 litres. So 40mpg give or take.

I read somewhere on here, before i bought the bike, that the fuel guage weren't too acurrate. So i fill it up when it gets to 1 bar just to be on the safe side.

I'm sure i also saw something about the trip computer tells you how many miles ridden on reserve or something like that. Never seen it myself. Can anyone tell me what happens?? Does it count up miles once the light comes on??

I really should read the handbook again. :)

Mine seems accurate enough. The light ALWAYS comes on between 118 and 127 miles. Today it was 127.

Normally the clock shows the number of miles after the light has been on for about 2 miles. It then goes back to normal after you've filled up and done about another 2 miles.

So once the fuel light comes on...... does the display automaticaly flick onto the miles traveled since it came on and start counting??

I'll have to go out now and run the fuel level low just to see if it works. :)

My gauge has only ever read completely full once in the last 5000 miles, despite filling it to the brim.

I've had my reserve tank mileage conter into the 40's though. I think both these facts are to do with an inaccurate gauge. The light normally comes on at about 120 miles on mine now.

Yes, but only after a couple of miles riding with the light on.

I ran out on Friday, got 14.75 litres in when I filled it, prob could have squeezed a drop more in but the garage I pushed to opened for me to refuel! The guage still read two bars.

Today I filled it at 121 miles, brimmed it with 13.5 litres, guage still read two bars.

How many litres are other people getting in? Think my fuel guage sender must be faulty?

Sounds like it. Like I said, mine used to take about 12.5 - 13 litres before the light comes on.

After filling my strada it always takes two or three mles to show full.
But it always does and has never been a problem.
I could,nt tell you what the MPG is,but it can,t be that bad or i would of noticed.

I ran totally dry in just over 185 miles with the fuel guage still on one bar and no fuel light (I was running the bike in at the time so not thrashing it). Had the sender unit replaced, a twenty minute job at the dealer while I waited, and no problems since. Fuel gauge now always shows full when I fill up and the light comes on with the reserve counter after about 10 miles past the last fuel gauge bar (if that makes sense ?). I usually fill up around 110-120 miles just in case though !!

Average miles to the fuel light is around 125-140. It them takes about 12 or 13 litres. That is on an average 40 mile round trip to work using approx 15 miles of A roads and 25 miles of motorway.

Hey

I usually get about 200kms when the light comes on and that is with some enthusiastic riding as well but havent run it dry yet.

Does anyone how the fuel economy is affected with K&N filter and Akro Pipes?

Cheers

Not to sure about the reserve yat as I have only had my fuel light come on once, but I seem to be getting 145 miles plus out of a tank full, but I am still running in at 750 miles.
