Puretec race kit

Hi

Bought the same thing for my Mille R 02 a month ago. I also bought the larger air inlet duct from previous versions. Fitting it all took me about an hour an I am not very experienced in working on motorcycles.

After installing the kit the bike simply pulls harder right from 3000 RPMS an all the way up. The best thing is that the slip at 5500 RPM that the bike has standard totally is gone.

After installation the idle speed went up, but I have been able to get it down to 1500 RPM with the TPS still at 0. The idle is smoother than before the installation.

The only downside is that you get increased noise from the air intake. At full throtlle it sounds very cool, but at lower speeds it has an annoying whistle sometimes. It's no big deal and a very small price to pay compared to the improvement in performance.

Should mention though that I have an Acrapovic slipon fitted as well.

By the way they are very helpful on the mail at Kämna if you have questions.

Hope this helps

Not familiar with that version of an airbox kit, but it seems as though it is a well thought out alternative to the Evoluzione, which I have. A friend and I have been doing some dyno testing, and the dip at 5,000 is now gone. At around 5-7,000 rpm the box comes close to giving an nine hp advantage. It gives an extra 2 or so on the top as well.

I like to be in the range where the dip was in turns, and it clearly powers out much better. I don't think it's possible to be disappointed..

Yes it helps , thanks.

I've had the Renegade-kit on mine but have thrown it off again for being to noisy.............. guess this won't be an improvement then.

Gonna give it some further thought though................

I have the evoluzione fitted with twin akas and chip, it work perfectly through the range, but has a high pitch wine at about 2500 - 3500 rpm.

I like the idea of all that surface area on the filter.Do you run the filter dry or is it oiled? Is this easily available in the USA?

Hi AllyV60 , i'll be at the TT in Assen , will arrive around 10am and will be heading home again after GP.I'll PM you my mobile nr. so that we can find eachother overthere.

Seems like it's an interesting up-grade afterall.I'm only afraid that it's gonna be to loud when at full throttle (had that with the Renegade, couldn't hear my own Akra.anymore)

I got it from Germany by mail. I use it oiled but i also use with it the evoluzione seal rubber to get dynamic pressure. I tried before the RENE and i assure it isnīt so loud as this one, in fact is almost as the OEM one.... theres people who argue the evo is better but this one is by far safer

about the loudness

Never heard other kits than the pure tec on my own bike, but when I wrote it was louder at full throttle I ment compared to standard. It's not so loud that you won't be able to hear a sport exhaust. It's a bit louder but nothing that I notice because my Akrapovic Ti Slip'on is definetly where most of the noise come from anyway.

Thanks for the reply.I doubt it'd be louder than my Aprilia/Akra slip-on.Besides who cares about the wonderful noises these bikes make.I cannot get dynamic pressure 'cause I have a Tuono.
