My RC51 friend evaluates my RSV - ApriliaForum sponsored by AF1 Racing, inc.

This morning while gougeing the backroads of Sussex county my friend who can ride like a true outlaw on his RC51 asks if he may try my RSV. He is quite criticle and has owned many bikes.
As he got off my RSV after his ride, pulled off his helmit and just looked at me and said..................."there is no comparison. The Aprilia is a much better bike hands down. Handling and motor."
Of course it costs more too and he said he could probably get the RC51 to that level with the cash differance. But hey, it would still be a Honda, as common as white bread !

if more people would just test ride them, i'm sure the sales figures would surge upward

Most dealers will not let you test ride a $18000 motorcycle HD makes you rent one for $90 a day and you have to have motorcycle insurance and a license

warhorse lets you test ride any bike except for one - MV Agusta, they have a demo in almost every make and model, if not you may take one off the floor

That is how I ended up buying mine. I went to an open house at a Denver area dealer and signed up for a demo ride from the Aprilia guys. They had a trailer full of RSVs and Tuonos. That's all it took. I almost didn't leave on the same bike I rode in on. I picked up the RSV the next business day.

My dealer will let you test ride a bike no problem.

My uncle got his Indian from them. When I went there they would not let me test ride a Factory.

Over here in the Netherlands a RSVR is a lot cheaper than a RC51

In NYC and surrounding area its almost impossible to get a test ride. I bought my Falco without the test ride based on all info that I have read. I am superbly happy with my decision. I just hope more people will buy Aprilias. That will allow all of us to have more access to part and better service becuase it will assure the survival of our great brand

Seacoast has demo bikes

I bought mine in March b4 the demos hit the road. I had been looking at the Mille the year before and for one reason or another never ended up taking one out. I walked in w/ my wife on my birthday to see the new shop. They had an '03 R as the bike of the month. I asked if there was anyone to answer some questions about the bike. They send over Clarkie and I walk out signing papers on an '04.

My local dealer will only allow you to demo his USED bikes, with one exception

- last summer Ducati had a big push on the 999 (I think the dealer got $$ for each test ride) yu sign up for a test ride get a tee shirt and a manuf's survey to complete...Bike was fun, but ran hot.

I understand the liabiity implications but..How do you know if you want to buy a RSVR, RSV Factory. 999 something, or a Guzzi v11 Cafe', or a MGS 01 if all you can do is look a them? Hah? Hah?
