No purple for me... I'll take mine in "tutto nero" It looks great and even plastic sides don't look too bad compared to the Factory carbon bits. Can anyone make up anything on the brakes? The whole engine seems to sit 1 cm higher compared to Factory version, or is it the Chianti I 'm having...

The only real reason Aprilia would go with Showa's has almost nothing to do with price, but volume.

If Aprilia is aiming to sell these bikes in large quantities (maybe in numbers similar to the 1098) then a vendor that can really crank out big production runs (Showa) would get the order

Therefore the basic RSV1000R got 2006 the Ohlinsforks of the Factory-version --- it was cheaper for Aprilia to buy one bigger quantity from Ohlins instead of low quantitys from two manufacturers...

I promise, Aprilia can get back on the road of succes when the price of the Basic RSV4 will be arround the same price as the Yamaha R1, ABS-Fireblade or BMW S1000RR. In Europe arround 16000-17000 Euro.
And if the Tuono-V4 version will be released ASAP for a price of 13000-15000 Euro they can earn a lot of money.
BTW: The Tuono-V4 will get the showa forks and suspension too.

So by trying to get the ABS out asap, Aprilia are hoping to sell a lot of bikes here in the US of A. I wouldn't be worried about the RSV4's being priced @ 16k (entry price) & 20k (Factory) IF they get their production together on their mid-sized line up & the tuono pricing possibly being current RSV pricing or lower? I feel with this V4 generation in the company this'll be the time to put ground work in and be recognized big time on this side of the lake
