Question amount of play in foot controls?

Just wondering how everyone elses are? my rear brake and gear levers have quite a large amount of side to side movement in them. the travel is fine and they work fine, but they do wobble from side to side somewhat.

What are everyone elses like? im beginning to think that mine have been re assembled at some time without some washers or spacers that should be there? they havent been damaged through a crash or anything so its not that, and the bolts are done up seemingly tight. should they have some kind of washers on them? mine havent. exploded diagrams might help if anyones got any

    Cheers
    Paul

mine where worn to fuck, more slack than a slapper. The steel bolts rust and quickly begin grinding the alloy away

IIRC, mine had washers on the levers, but there was still a decent amount of side to side movement..... I'd just leave it unless its actually affecting you

well, like i say, they work fine. i just dont like things being sloppy and inefficient. just wondered if i was missing any spacers or washers that should be there. ill investigate further shortly, not got an allen key that big yet, buy one at weekend, lol!

yer, i have a big one, but it got stripped when i came off the bike so i had no way of turning the bolt (ended up using molar grips round the edge of it)

there should be 2 washers, one on each side of the lever AFAIK. If its loose add some more washers till its OK.

Mine have two washers either side and they wear really quickly so yeh you have to replace them quite alot and keep making sure the bolt is tight.
