Most dealers are not going to pre-order a part that expensive. We stock one, but many dealers do not.
they took my recall letter and told me they'll order one then call me. that was 3 weeks ago.

The swingarms are in stock in the USA warehouse in Lawrenceville, GA . It should take them 7 days tops to get one.

only the 04 and some 05 bikes were affected.....look at the pics and your swingarm...

if you still have the original swingarm on there, its the good one

As far as I know, YES. 04 and 05 with a two holed swingarm - needs to be replaced.

Is there a time limit on the swinging arm warranty replacement? I bought an 2005 RSVR this week and the recall letter was in with the documents. When I checked the bike I found that the letter had been ignored as the bike still has the old swinging arm with the two rivets.

as stated many times throughout this thread...it is a RECALL, and there are no time limits on recalls...a local dealer may whine about helping you with it, but they have to honor it....

I purchased an 04 RSVR Factory that appears to have two holes on swingarm. I contacted the dealer and that I purchased it from and they said that they checked, and the swingarm had been replaced on April 27th 2007. Do any of the replacement swingarms have two holes? Is there a way to verify this information?
    Thanks

I also checked with the dealer and they confirmed the bike should have the updated swingarm. Yet I could clearly see that the the swingarm had two holes.

It turned out the dealer fitted the swingarm and just drilled a hole and used a screw to fit the sprocket cover. He clearly had no clue why the swingarms were recalled.

    You might wanna check this...

    swing arm recall

Steve I know this is a old thread but I just purchased a used 2004 Factory. Will the dealer still honor this recall?

A recall has no expire date.....good forever

also, many swingarms have been claimed to have been replaced by fraudulent dealers.....claimed the work but never actually did the swap......these can still be replaced, just slightly longer process for the replacing dealer, he will have to call in the claim to Aprilia Technical in California. We fixed probably 6 of these bad deals.

If you have a bad swingarm, take it to any Aprilia dealer ASAP, and they will get you fixed up. New swingarms are still in stock in USA, easy to get. DO NOT RIDE on the bad swingarm.....we have seen them crack real bad.
