    Aprilia Dealer closes

Hi All, I have been recommending the Aprilia dealer here in the North East, just outside of New York City, in Danbury CT. called Cliff's Cycle Revoution. I have had my bike serviced there and they were really good to work with. They carried Aprilia, Ducati, MV Agusta, and BMW - Diego, the service manager told me today that they will no longer carry Aprilia! They have not payed them for the service work that was done on new bikes, so they are droping them! It is a shame not to have a great dealer nearby to order parts through - it seems the only dependable dealer is AF1 in Texas!
He mentioned that they will still service Aprilia but no new sales or parts through them.

I was there yesterday and can confirm. Great dealership and a real loss to the northeast. The guy the cashed me out admitted Aprilia made better bikes than Ducati, but that they just couldn't get their act together in the US.

Sad news indeed. I was very excited as I'll be moving close to them and thought how great it would be to have service done there and be able to hang out on those special occassion days with the bike (and not have to travel 50 miles to get there). They fixed my bike up, and were having trouble getting the $$ then, I can't imagine it got any better

    Looks like I'm down to:

    1. Aprilia NYC
    2. Rockwell's (West Point Area)
    3. Albany (are they still an Aprilia dealer?)
    4. Time to buy some tools and spare parts and start learning how to fix everything myself (not angry to do it, angry to have no choice )

New Haven Powersports is still a Aprilia dealer. The sales department is good, service has been pretty good on my 04 Tuono. It's probably not as good as Cliff's, but probably not as expensive either. I would say that, for me, the jury is still out on NH Powersports, but I'm reaaaaal particular about my "little Italian redhead".

Yeah. I found out the dealership in Charlotte,NC quit selling aprilia too. They said there wasn't enough profit. I was so bummed because they were the closest aprilia dealership to me, which was still three hours away, but then I found out the suzuki dealership just made their first order for the 07 aprilias!!! Right here in Knoxville, TN where I live.

I just bought my tuono from cliffs in july as they were only 65mi.away and they had a red one. When i picked it up and and brought it home it had 44psi in the rear tire 30 in the front and way to much slack in the chain. When i asked what type of oil they use when they do a service the service dept. told me they use a "special aprilia oil".so with that i got my 600mi service at martin eurosports in PA the staff there were great they loaded the latest tune and overall i had a very nice time there.

I met Larry the sales mgr a couple of weeks ago and he told me they stopped being a dealer because of customer service, which is probably true.

the worst thing about being a dealer at he moment is that when you tell the customer exactly what Aprilia USA tells you, you end up looking like an ass and that isnt good.

3 years in, and Piaggio still havent done anything to turn the brand around, makes you wonder...

    answered my own question

It's the Suzuki/Polaris of Knoxville on Kingston Pike.

Of course, they're not a dealer yet. They've ordered bikes. They don't know when the bikes will arrive. They do not provide parts or service, and don't intend to until the bikes arrive. They don't have any trained techs.

So, although they are not a dealer yet, they are very much like a dealer, right now.

What's wrong with Spitzies? I had a pretty good couple of years with them before I moved. The bike ran well after they fixed it, but they often did not document or communicate well.
