    Softer Seat?

The stock seat is quite hard and uncomfortable after a while, Does anyone know of any aftermarket seats for the SXV?

    Work with what you've got

Might I suggest a healthy diet of Del Taco bean burritos and chocolate shakes. They'll go right to your ass and before you know it, you won't even feel the seat.

    Better seat.

Actually the seat is too narrow and not supportive enough.

Should be wider and a bit more firm.

So for those that know, which do you peferr? Renazco or Corbin?

They both will build me a new seat using stock seat pan. (yeah Corbin don't have a mold for the SXV RXV yet, so they resuse stock seat pan)
for leather covering 400 for renazco and 300 for corbin.

    Thoughts?

    Talking Seat

If you have time to realize seat is a piece of crap your not riding hard enough. It is a race bike and not a cadillac.

Well, for some of us, It's not all track all the time. Some canyon carving willl put your butt on the seat for an hour at a time. A sore arse takes away enjoyment of the bike.

Yes I agree. I will be taking mine to Deals Gap in Tennessee in a few months and I'm sure a better seat would be beneficial but I don't believe the bike was designed with that in mind. In any form of racing you usually have to give on the comfort side to gain on the performance side.

I'm not sure what point you are trying to make... No one in this thread mention anything about racing... It just would be nice to put an hour on the seat without adjusting my arse to alleviate pain.

Although, in any form of racing, making the driver more comfortable without sacrificing performance is actually an edge. (i.e. driver cooling systems, an extra mm of from seating)

The bike was designed to be a "Race" bike. No one may be talking about racing in this thread but neither am I. Obviously an aftermarket seat could be more comfortable, but when you buy this awesome machine your not buying a Goldwing. You don't have to be racing to be riding hard enough not to notice how uncomfortable the seat is. I put more concern into the next turn.

    Like the guys said, www.renazco.com

I was told by Chris of Renazco PNW that I have the first Renazco custom seat made for an Aprilia RXV/SXV
    http://www.apriliaforum.com/forums/s...7&postcount=16

I can tell you it's been great and allowed me up to an 8hr day in the saddle on a dual-sport offroad day. Macho can be tossed all around about short racing runs, but a few of us actually want to ride these things longer distances and time, well at least I do. I can enjoy the bike a lot more if my ass isn't screaming in pain. I like to ride the thing all the time, pavement or dirt. I'm far from retired so I can't play in the dirt for months on end, so I take what I can get and have to ride the beast whenever I can. Commute to work, run out to the trails, hammer some rocky single trail, whatever. Having a 4" wide (stock) seat crown to split you ass in half is not bad-ass, it's just sore-ass.
Renazco seats kick-ass. A happy customer.
