    Exhaust System - Performance

    Gentlemen,

It is time to replace my arrow pipes - they have been welded one too many times. My RS250 is a 2001 model and I changed the pipes immediately to Arrow. Today, what are the best performance pipes on the market - still Arrow, Jim Lomas.....I look forward to all of your expert opinions.

    Cheers

    Best pipes for what?

Jolly moto are the best for peak power and have good Nm

Arrow (the old models) have 1hp less but a bit more Nm

Figaroli have 0,5 hp less but more Nm

Jim Lomas 0,7 hp less but a bit more Nm

Sugaya are the best with kit SAPC but don't work well without

I cant guarantee u the tyga pipes are beta in performance wise. But they do come in stainless steel where as the arrow pipes are made in mild steel and tend to get surface rust under the clear coat for around the same price as the tyga's. Whateva u decide on im sure u'll be happy ( i felt like i was riding a GP bike after i got my pipes

Look at the tyga site there's a dyno run from a RGV compared to std. I've got tyga's and I'm happy.

Dyno run is from GraigM's bike on the www.rgv250.co.uk

    Ditto

On my Aprilia, against a guy with arrows-otherwise dead stock, both jetted fairly well, I could pull past him...

Then I started doing other tweeks...

I'm toying with the idea of Tyga chambers and canisters now the rebuild is done.

Are there any differences between mild steel and stainless chambers performance wise? Is it just weight?

Also would I need to rejet with a stock motor?

    Thanks

Same performance for mild and SS, weight should not be very different either I think. Tyga advizes to go 1 size bigger on the mains but I doubt if that's better. I did do it back then to be sure.

Im sure that i have seen a graph showing that the Tyga system produces more power then the Arrow System.

P.S. I found the website stating it. Tgya - RS250 page

Tyga and jolly moto are more or less the same (as are all others) Jolly moto is however better for tuned engine, so if you want to do some tuning....
