Great guide! But isn't it easier to NOT split the moped into two parts? I think it's too much work to split it when it's rather easy to change the cylinder... Or am I wrong?

Well that was very helpful. One thing: Oil tank. Is it OK to disconnect oil tank from oil pump? I heard somwhere it should be bleed afterwards because air is not healthy into the system.
Looks like this thread has run it's course, but I just got my 2004 Mojito. I swapped out the cylinder, head, piston with the Malossi 42mm kit (70cc), put in the Malossi 19mm carb kit, a Leo Vince pipe, the malossi variator / spring and a Malossi clutch. After doing all this, the performance hasn't really gone up - at least no where near what others are indicating. I've double checked the installation of the big bore it - it looks good. I have the needle in the carb at the 2nd position from the top. It starts great and runs fine, but going uphill it maxes out at 25 mph - down hill max speed is 40.
Any suggestions are appreciated (if any of you are still out there).
Sorry to hear about your luck Baglien,
I'm an old 2-stroke mx racer/ engine builder and I just wanted to put in my 2 cents worth. Before you go WOT (wide open throttle) down the road on your new engine mods, make SURE you do a sparkplug reading to insure your not running too lean or rich. Check the color of the ceramic on the plug tip. It shoud be a nice chocolate milk color. If its white, its running lean and you could have a piston seizure on your hands in a matter of minutes (even on your first test run!) Also make sure you have no air leaks and she's idling smooth. Excessive high idle can idicate an air leak which can also cause lean conditions ie engine failures. A final bit of my humble opinion...run the best damn 2 stroke oil you can buy. BRRAAAAAAAAAAP!:
how fast does it go with a 70 kit on?
