Well at least we have a *real* number, or at least as close as we can get.

So, if the US has 1200 total bikes and Bob Davis keeps depleting the stock.... yep, they are rarities- to me

    Rarity

The other day while I was pumping gas into mine, a fella approached me with the all too well known: "What is that?"

In his own words, he said: "That's different!"

    Ain't it so true.

Last four of vin # 0652.

Fuel Disconnect Recall states the number of effected units is 1,310 imported to the US.

So yes they are a rare bike.

Rode with a friend on his new K1200RS yesterday, nice bike but I would not trade him. The K1200RS has more power but weighs 100 pounds more and in the real world the two bikes were very similar with the Futura being alot more comfortable. The styling of the BMW is taken right from the Futura, mirrors, fairing, rear pegs, grab handles, all closely resemble the Futura, check out the picture.

Actually, that number refers to Caponords and Futuras, so it is not an accurate reflection of Futura numbers.

2002, #0317. Thinkin' I might call it "blank stare".. that's usually followed by "..never heard'a 'em..", in response to the "what is it?" query.

Yesterday Todd had a guys ask....

    What is it?

    Todd - It's an Aprilia

    Yeah but who makes it?

    Todd - Aprilia

But I mean who makes it?

    Todd - Aprilia

    But who actually builds it?

    Todd - Kawasaki

I guess he just got tired of it.

It is universally admitted that a well-instructed people alone can be permanently free."

How about This? Everyone repost their VIN by cutting and pasting this format into a new post with their info inserted in VIN numerical order. Try to keep it in this format.
