Mojito Custom 50cc w/Piaggio engine: Switching exhaust

    Hi,

I recently purchased a 2006 model Mojito 50cc, thinking I would switch out the exhaust and install a 70cc after 500km on the engine. I really like the design of the bike, but it's extremely annoying driving around (even in the city) at the slow speed I'm able to pull on original parts. Personally I have no experience what-so-ever when it comes to mecanic stuff, and I've delivered the bike to a mecanic suggested by the largest importer in the country

I was very disappointed when he said that it would be difficult to do anything because they switched to a Piaggio engine after 2005. He said it was very difficult to switch out the exhaust, and did not know of any exhausts that would fit the engine and exact design of the bike.

After a bit of research I found technigas silent pro (code # 030704011), and also found others mentioning installing this exhaust on the same engine/model. The exhaust is listed as supported on tecnigas.com.
I contacted the mecanic again, and he got hold of one of the exhaust. Finally I was hoping we'd get somewhere, but then he told me he still had real issues installing the exhaust. It didn't fit as it was suppose to, and if he'd install it this way it would generate too much heat and look really bad. I completely understood what he meant when he sent a picture of the bike (see attachement) after installing the exhaust, and he said he did not know of any other way of getting the angle etc correct - without weld and other major operations. I tried to pass on other tips from another local forum, but he still thinks this is isn't possible to do.

I've already purchased other parts (70cc + other stuff) through the same place, and what I would LOVE is if someone could give a description on what needs to be done to install this exhaust properly. Again, I'm not able to do any of this myself, I'm just hoping I can get some exact details on what needs to be done, and how - which I can pass on to the mecanic. If I end up with a 70cc with the original exhaust it's not going to do much good. And I'd hate to waste the money already spent for work and parts.
Any help is very much appreciated. Maybe someone could even pass on a picture or two? _Any_ kind of help would be GREAT. As a matter of fact the importer of the technigas exhausts even said they thought the information on tecnigas.com was wrong, and that the Mojito 50 cc/Company Cumstom w/Piaggio engine was not among the bikes the exhaust would fit.. so honestly I'm not quite sure what to think.

    In advance, thank you.

    Hi.
I had almost the same problem trying to to fit a LeoVince touring exhaust,
once installed it came into the bikes rear body.
The best solution is to lower the pipe:

    http://www.habana-mojito.com/Technik...ell2005_02.htm

Notice the little metal piece attached to the upper bracket. The longer that piece is,
the lower the pipe goes. Thats what I did, see the bad quality photos in the link below:

    http://www.apriliaforum.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=90583

Thats my bike all dirty when the the job was just done.
I also fitted-welded- a little curved tube at the end of the pipe in order to make sure
the expansion gas dont go into the rear body of the bike.

Those are for the LeoVince pipe, dont know if it will work for the Technigas
exhaust, but I think it is almost the same shape.
    Hope that works.

    silent pro

I'm suppose to be able to mount the silent pro exhaust without any weld or any adjustments, both according to someone who did it and technigas.com. Plus, this is an exhaust I'm able to get in Norway for sure, so I'm still hoping this will be possible some how.

At this point I have a 70cc sylinder and other stuff is all good.. really annoying that the exhaust is the only thing stopping me from getting full throughput :-/

    Simple questions

    Hello Fellows,

I recently bought a Mojito Custom 50cc. I am just finished to put the 70cc (68cc in real) Malossi big bore kit on it. Now my top speed is around 75-80 Km (if I have a 2-3km straight and empty road a head - and there is no head or tail wind). I expected much better acceleration after the change the cilinder.
Could anyone help to ansver my following questions.
According to the factory description "... the LeoVince Touring exhaust is good for the 50cc engines only.."
    Is it true or not?
If I buy the same exhaust to my 68cc Malossi big bore kit will it work?
Will it show significant changes is acceleration and end speed?

Thanks for the replies (if any)

    T

did u put in lighter rollers than stock, if not 6 gram should do well, touring exhausts arent good with 70 cc but i think there all u can get for the mojito, did u use a bigger jet aswell ?

I have the Morini engine version with the Malossi 70 kit and up-gear kit, fitted with the LV Touring pipe...it works ok, but I'm not exploiting all of the kit's power. When I take off, it blasts through the power range at about 20mph and then has to catch up (bogs and over-revs). Once I have it around 40mph the power comes back a bit and gets me up to about 60mph. I too am trying to find a pipe that works...but with the Mojito's body work as low as it is, it may come down to breaking out the dremel tool! I need to really see what this thing can do, and put a pipe on it made for the Suzuki Katana or a 2001-2003 SR50! I hate the fact that the only pipe made for this thing is the LV I have.
