    Hi Rachel,

    I was wondering when I could expect this recall to be addressed;

    Make:
    APRILIA

    Model:
    ETV MILLE CAPONORD

    Affected Year(s):
    2003

    Units Affected:
    28

    TC Recall #:
    2005375

    Manufacturer:

    Campaign Code:

    Recall Details

    On certain motorcycles, the fuel line quick connectors may break if care is not used when removing the fuel tank at the time of service. A fuel leak, in the presence of an ignition source, could result in a fire. Correction: Dealers will replace the fuel line quick connectors.

    Regards,

    Well how about that. One day turnaround. Followed by a phone call from the local Aprilia shop with the note that they have the correct part in stock, and just bring it down at my convenience to get it all fixed up.

    I'm thinking I should go buy a lottery ticket, or ask the boss for more $$ or ask the gf for..... Let's just say I'm feeling pretty lucky.

    My Capo goes in on Wednesday for the recall. My dealer has the 1 part he needs now and is ready to go. 3 weeks wait for the part.

    All they are going to replace is the plastic fitting on the tank with a metal one--That is it!

    My dealer will do it while I wait

    I'll probably order the other parts from Colder and wait till that comes in to take it in for the recall. Might as well get it all done together, right?

    now, if I can just find that post with the part numbers...
    ...there is one thing I'm sure of. nothing will make you want to ride faster than coming up behind someone riding slow....

    I'm sure my reply here must have been posted before but...

    I had to buy one three weeks ago. £23 plus tax at 17.5%. TOTAL RIP OFF - TWATS.

    My (UK) dealer found a note issued to all dealers here and Europe discussing the issue BUT had express and firmly stated paragraph that this is NOT a recall item, even though they admitted it was breaking. (Same on BMW, Triumph and one other make I can't remember) They gave instructions to the mechanics to only lift the tank from the rear and not to disconnect the fitting if they need to work on the engine. !!!!!

    I like to watch that while they hold the tank and change valve shims.

    Seems us Europeans can all get fried and go to hell before those Wankers in Italy will admit they fitted a lot of inferior parts. I feel a flying headbutt coming on.

    And relax....

    You should forward a question to the MOT. Here's the link to the Transport Canada recall. You never know what you may get. http://www.tc.gc.ca/roadsafety/recal...p?recno=13907&

    I think the best part is the number of vehicles affected. 28. Don't I feel all exclusive now.

    You can actually do alot with the tank still attached and slid backwards- alot of basic stuff (i.e. air filter, etc.)--so my dealer tells me.

    Don't you guys have some sort of Transportation safety admnistration. I know the US and Canada do.

    I have a hard time believing that the tank fitting is the only problem here. I just can't see a plastic fitting working well with a metal fitting. Especially under pressure.
