    my new bike's finallly arrived!!!!

hey guys its done i have received it today So ive got quite a lot of questions to ask:-they gave me my bike whitout instructions manual is it normal?
-the bike doesnt idle at ALL im not saying idling 5 sec then cut: as soon as i let the throttle go it cuts lights on lights off engine warm engine cold what should i do==> mixture screw or there is a prob?
-there was a light smoke of new coming from the brand new exhaust it lasted a couple of miles then vanished is it normal? thank you in advance
last thing is the throttle is not sharp and precise around idle there is a very big part of the movement(about 30 degrees) that are not opening throttle if you see what i mean... thank you in advance

1)the idling screw needs twisting clockwise a good few turns. that will sort things out

2)dont touch the mixture should be fine from stock

3)the light smoke is fine, that will go whe the bike is warm/run regularly etc...

4)there is supposed to be some "free-play" in the throttle but 30degs sounds a lot! that needs adjusting to about 1mm free play.

5)the bike should come with an instruction manual i found it to be very useful so insist they give you one.

    6) if it does more than 50km/h / 31ph on the flat, it is not restricted. are you sure u werent looking at the km digits lol! 50mph is about right although i take it this is a new bike so it should be run in like it is completely restricted for the first few hundred miles...

thank you for very fast answer two last little questions. Where is the mixture screw? and i has a last prob i forgot. its the gearbox. getting gears down is very easy but going up between second and third third and fourth fourth and fifth and fifth and sixth they get very very hard to shift is that normal because its new. Ive got very thin basket and my foot is hurt and i have done around 60km

Are you sure they set this bike up for you at all? I would check that it has oil in the transmission if your having that hard of a problem shifting.

If it's brand new it should have the users manual. If it hasn't, insist that the dealer gets you one. If it's 2nd hand you canonly ask, not insist.

For the other problems, go back to the dealer and talk to him. If there's a real problem, get him to sort it. Teething troubles aern't unusual.

Dude first of all you need the users manual, and they need to make sure the bike runs properly in the first place before selling it to you.

i suggest you put some fresh in yourself. not ahrd and there are instructions on the af1 site. basically, right fairing off - (a few allen key bolts), transmission oil out by unscrewing the big bolt on the bottom with a large ring spanner (i think 18/19), unscrew the top plastic plug so no air holds any in, and tip the bike ti it's right hand side with a pan under it to colelct the old oil. tighten up the bottom screw, undo the small one on the side, fill up with fresh til it pours out of that, and then replace botht the plug and the small side screw. sounds so badly explained i know. basically it's worth doing anyway cos of the little bits of swarf casued by the new engine being run in...

what bikes this? is this a new RS50?

if so you remove the rubber plug on the fairing (i didnt have one though) and then insert a long screwdriver and it should be there, however on my 16mm carb the idle screw was elsewhere
