    Nylon Fuel Tank

My tank had to be replaced once because the place where the fuel pump mounts warped, started leaking fuel.

Last night my low fuel light came on, right about the time I was going to park my bike. And I started to wonder if heat soak might not be a good idea on thermal setting nylon that already has a history of warping.

So I went and filled the bike up, Something I might pay more attention to from now on.

And don't later model bikes have vented side covers to cool that same area?

    Nylon?

    Aren't the tanks ABS plastic?

I think when I looked the symbol up it was nylon, But it was a while back, so I could have it wrong. (Anyone have a tank up, look at the recycling symbol on the underside).

However they still are thermal setting plastic.

I think it's marked PA, or PAB, which is Polyamide commonly named nylon.

Took me most of lunch thinking about it to remember.

Well there could be other reasons to want that area cool, But if it helps to justify more CF for your bike good for you
