Thanks for the input, Ross. I'm not sure if I can afford to buy one this summer, thanks to the sudden uncertainty on the employment front at the moment, and I don't think I would dare to go for one as the single bike. As a second bike, however, it woud be interesting. I think I'd like to get myself one of the naked Guzzis at some time, either the Centauro or the newer V11 Sport naked, or Ballabio.

There are three things that make the Centauro interesting, whigh are the quirky looks, (it's hard to tell whether it's plain bizarre or very cool), the V10 OHC engine and the fact that they are a bit cheaper than the V11 models these days. Suppose an ideal older model Guzzi would be either a (green) V11 Sport Naked or a Ballabio with the V10 Daytona/Centauro engine.
The new ones are nice, too, and the (hopefully) forthcoming 8V Griso would be a cool choice as a keeper, although it'll probably be quite pricey.

I may have a chance to go for a spin with one 1998 Centauro Sport next month, so we'll see what I'll make of it, and whether or not I'll feel more 'daring' after it, heheh...

Anyway, so you think the Daytona (RS) was still a better ride than the Centauro?

Daytona for fast sweepers etc, Centauro for town, hills scraping, touring. It only falls short when trying to do the real fast stuff.
Who said you get slower as you get older!

The wife and son on the Goose, The green is on the way out for Black, I'd rather color match but that would be a nightmare so I'm just going to paint it black. I still have all the original body work too.

Different then my beloved Falco but great non the less. I love the sound of M4 exhaust. Much deeper sound but not as loud as my Falco SL Carbon. I hate to ride without the fairing so I will installing LeMans Fairing. Thankfully stock bars should clear the fairing so I will keep upright position. I only managed one ride so far this year on this bike but I got even more looks then I get when I ride my Falco. By the way I love red color and even my Audi A4 is RED

And Now in V11 LeMans clothing

    FalcoLion-

After searching for almost 2 years, I was able to buy a LeMans fairing this summer from a guy who wanted to convert his LeMans to a naked bike.

My winter project will fitting that fairing (and I guess a new headlight and instrument cluster) to my Coppa Italia - and getting the paint color-matched to tri-colore from the existing red.

Good luck getting the fairing. They don't come around very often - and if you want to order one they are about $1,500 and apparently Mandello puts out about 2 per year.

Did you get it from the guy in NE (I think MA)? I was told that you will not need new Headlight. As for instrument cluster you will only need a new plate

    Yep-
    I bought Doug's.

I have heard it both ways (re the headlight) but I will confirm with Greg at MI before I buy anything else.

I'll post pics in Spring when the project is complete.
