Thanks for the input, Ross. I'm not sure if I can afford to buy one this summer, thanks to the sudden uncertainty on the employment front at the moment, and I don't think I would dare to go for one as the single bike. As a second bike, however, it woud be interesting. I think I'd like to get myself one of the naked Guzzis at some time, either the Centauro or the newer V11 Sport naked, or Ballabio.
There are three things that make the Centauro interesting, whigh are the quirky looks, (it's hard to tell whether it's plain bizarre or very cool), the V10 OHC engine and the fact that they are a bit cheaper than the V11 models these days. Suppose an ideal older model Guzzi would be either a (green) V11 Sport Naked or a Ballabio with the V10 Daytona/Centauro engine.
The new ones are nice, too, and the (hopefully) forthcoming 8V Griso would be a cool choice as a keeper, although it'll probably be quite pricey.
I may have a chance to go for a spin with one 1998 Centauro Sport next month, so we'll see what I'll make of it, and whether or not I'll feel more 'daring' after it, heheh...
Anyway, so you think the Daytona (RS) was still a better ride than the Centauro?
