The head is soo cool, this is the insert. Squish will be set at the normal for .7-.755 for this engine too. The chamber has good volume and the squish band width is appropriate for the torque peak in the 10K range.

Here is Kirk, Ed and Jon hard at work on the shop stunter Zuma. I just built a new engine for it...but forgot to tighten the two bolts that hold the timing plate on...that sucked. All is well now though.

Micah, making pistons look like that is how one learns to tune a racing two stroke. Or how not to, perhaps.
If you keep at it (race tuning) long enough, you can have quite a collection. I used to keep them on the shelf next to the four stroke pistons with the exaust valves sticking out of them.

before i changed reed cages, i removed the limiter pieces all together and just scored an old reed to about 1/3 of its lenght and used it as a limiter

i used to use carbon reeds, i found they chipped on the corners, i used to swap them out about ever 2 races anyway

if you ever want to see some neat stuff with two stokes stop in at boyesen, that guy always has all sorts of stuff going on there thats not available yet, you can see all sorts of unique prototype stuff, suspension related, reeds, cages, oh and the twin air clean and oil machine is pretty neat also

Although, I still really like the webcam idea...that'd be awesome!

Guys about the idea of a web-cam....I personally do not really want one...if you want me to make some videos of cool stuff I might but, a webcam.. .come-on, seriously so you really want to see me using a hammer on your $20,000 toy...or a torch...or see me smoke a pack a day of Camels, or drink beer whilst porting...surely this is not needed. If all you see is the before and after you will surely have more respect for me. I think a cam into my daily life is just too much to bear...if you want Discovery to cover a real bike shop or do a real motorcycle show call them and tell them where to find me...I might even quit smoking for that.

Here is the RS125 today...when I say a frame off restoration I do indeed mean just that. Apparently I actually got a Rotax 122 engine with this bike...the difference, I have no idea!

Here is a fascinating little bit I found on the underside of the frame epoxied back into the webbing...this is smaller than a dime coin, it must be some sort of ID tag of the electronic type? I have never seen one before and I Have had thousands of bikes apart???

More faggin on and on about how freaking awesome the little SR Facotry Ditech is even in 50cc form. This really is the most amazing scooter I have ever seen and if you do not already have one this should be put at the top of your priority list of things to get...screw a new Plasma TV, this is is good fun!

V-Max now at 58mph after strafing the service road in full tuck and hiding under the floorboards. This was at precisely 10K rpm too. More gear would definitely go more faster!

Micah, I am currently at the UT in SA and plan to stop by at AF1 on 6/14 afternoon. Hope to see you there to say HI (and maybe do a little shopping).

BTW for the scooter homos out there. If you do have the Vertical Cylinder Zuma from Yamaha, Pre 2001 year model and these parts ,Malossi MHR Team cylinder, Leo ZX and 20mm Mikuni I can give you advice on tranny set-up. Use 4.2 gram rollers, yellow contra spring, yellow centifical clutch springs and enjoy! Wheelies effortlessly on the 1999 Zuma now at 30 mph, with a top speed in the 50 mph range with stock gearing and acceleration that many ricer's can only dream of! Wheelies are so easy even I can get one up at 30 mph. 10+ bhp helps but not nearly as much as the uber-kurtz chassis and the vertical motor do!
