Setting the squish at a hare less than .7mm for this 13,000 rpm little monster. The little NSR will soon be way more fun I am guessing....

This is the stock position of the reed stoppers that limit the travel and to a lesser extent the tension of the reeds.

More peak lift is good. To a certain extent as little reed tension as possible without loosing torque is good. More open is more better. Let the opening they fit into be the guide, not some pansy at a factory that wants stuff to outlive it's warranty period...or at least a little while.

2 strokes really are tuned a millimeter at a time and in many very daft ways...they are the black art you know?

This is a new R6 we did a full Akro system for a few weeks ago. You know that midrange flat spot all the magazines are talking about...the Akro Evo fixes all of that. It was like 200cc in the midrange...good stuff.

Here is the reason the RS250 motor had to come out and get all this lovely treatment...the upper piston had just givin up. The stress of detonatio n had finally become too strong to bear so it decided to call it quits!

Here you can really see the craters left by million of tiniy disasters...detonation kills engines. Even stock RS250's should be run on race leaded fuel when used at the track IMO!

Sorry for the colage effect..too many pics too little time.

This is a 2006 Ditech SR50 Factory. It is such a sweet riding scooter, stock was horrificly slow but thanks to a set of 7 gram rollers, a new Leo Vince Chrome pipe and a little elbow grease the scooter now flys for a true 50cc engine. I was able to exced 53 mph, something not done in the 1st 2,500 miles of this little beauty's life according to the V-Max stored in the dash.

Of course I also so need for the intake silencer...look at this pic, it was insane for an intake passageway. The scooter barks with authority now and has about 2-3 times the takeoff power compared to before.

Here was a heartwarming site I found this weekend in Houston. I pull into the coffeeshop where I always stop on the way into town...what do I see but an AF1 Racing badged Derbi Predator with all of the sweet kits parts from Metrakit...nice!

200 miles from home...that was odd to see.

Here is the insode of a Kymco sport scooter's 50cc engine. This guy wants to use the stock stuff since very little is available in the aftermarket ofr this scooter engine. Compression is going way up, squish way down, exhaust up 2mm and transfers up about 1.5mm and widened a LOT. There are really only two pipes on the market for this engine. The owner will have to re-fab the Technigas he has not for the new port timing and a lot more rear wheel scootin power. The head is an interesting design, odd but I am guessing very good for unleaded pump fuels.

Kyco has good looking parts, these honestly surprised the crap out of me for off the shelf quality.

And finally some pics of the inside of the 1997 RS125 I bought last week. This ia Rotax 123 engine and the quality of the parts is also amazing. It came stock with a modular cylinder head, three thickness of base gaskets to choose from, a counterbalancer, a 34mm flatslide DellOrto carb, and a lot of nice detail work by the previous owner to the cylinder and rred cage...ported as nicely for the reed cage as I have seen anywhere and the cyliinder is far better than a stocker, not perfect at all, but gives me a great starting point.

This guy did nice responsible porting, I totally approve and will just details basically what he has done since this all looks close to right. I will set the top edges to open all at once and finish chamfer the vertical window dividers a bit...but nice already with new cross-hatching coming prior to final assembly.
