That thing is fresh! If it was available in the US and priced decently (speaking of, how much? $) I'd certainly consider it for commuter duty and tight backroad fun.

I like it but, highly doubt we'll see it in the States. And if we do I'd have to buy mine out of state since I dislike the Derbi dealer we have in Seattle.

Ducati Seattle sells Derbi, although they haven't been very excited about Derbi for awhile. Mostly they just sold the scooters and supermotos.

I've seen the Mulhacén live at the Milano EICMA show last November. Very nice light bike.

It apparently ships in Southern Europe (Spain, Italy, Portugal, France / Greece?), but hasn't reached Northern European Derbi dealers yet. Their website says it's still a prototype

Pics I took in Milan last year:

The Derbi is listed at 162kg dry, the new Pegaso Strada is 168.

I love the xr750 look exhaust!!... but I think I'll pass on owning it, I'll leave that to some crazed derbi fan. Cool bike though. A hell of a lot cooler than the honda xr650l or kawasaki klr650 or suzuki dr650. The japs are slipping in the supermoto segment.

That looks like an excellent piece of design work. Simple, sophisticated, agressive, but made for grown-ups (I assume the price tag is made for grown-ups).

I hope, someday, the world, and the U.S., come to an agreement that great design belongs to all...including the U.S.

I'm not a huge fan of the exhaust, but other than that, I love it!

    retro.....

When I saw the picture I thought some one has photoshopped the Suzuki Katana body work onto a Yamaha Enduro 500. Both are from the 1970's.....

mmm make the exaust's like the SXV maybe a bit wider and you might have a sexual bike.

Wouldnt buy it sadly coz derbi is a shit "motorcycle" company but fairly good scooter makers, parts would be a bitch, but for the engine it would be good.
    Hats off to the designer!
