    Rear shock - your opinion

My bike needs a new rear shock.

Therefore I found a 1998 shock done 2700 kms and bought that.
But then I started to think, how smart this was?
The 98-shocks are known not to be as good as the later ones?

I know I could get a new aftermarket shock for the same price.

The shock on mine had just been replaced when I bought the bike.
Spent hours trying to set the pre-load up correctly, but no matter what you do the lack of rebound adjustment means its never great.
If I was needing a new shock, theres no way Id go for a standard one.
Think your looking at an extra £100 for one with rebound adjustment.

i think the standard shocks are ok, never used too think about changing them but lately ive started to feel the bike is not holding the road as i would like it too. If i needed to change my rear shock and i was keeping the bike for a while i would probebly get a aftermarket one.
