Under your seat is the ECU box. Disconnect 2 connectors, large white ones slide forward, undo 4 little scres. Ensure you note which way chip should go in. Pry old chip out with a small screwdriver slowly and gently from each end so as not to bend pins uneccesarily.
Insert new chip with little half moon at end of chip matching the little circuit/chip liftoff, and gently push in. You may have to slightly bend one side of pins inwards to fit the liftoffs, unless the new chip is on a piggyback board.
Any easy way to do this is to place one edge of pins on a tabble and gently role away from you the line of pins. Check fit and do again ever so slightly.
Take you time on chip insertion. Broken pins are hard to fix.
Use an antistatic strap, as well. Maybe a dollar or 2 at your local Tandy shop.

Hoh, Hum, another shitty day in paradise!
Thanks so much, I will get it in tomorrow as soon as i check Radio Shack for the anti static strap.
I did this a couple of weeks ago, Squirrel. A word of advice. (Via Carlos, THANKS!). The screws holding the box together were put in by a gorilla. Instead of buggering up the screw heads, just go ahead and use some vice grips to break them loose. It won't damage the screws so you can reuse them.

Just in case you do f*ck-up the two sealed screws (which I didOriginally Posted by FalcoPilot

They are exactly the same ones which are used in almost all PC's for hard disc / DVD disc drive mounting. Just re-use the fine-thread screws of your old computer![]()

Thanks for all the help. Got it out and replaced with no problems, screws were not an issue, chip fit was fine and it even started right up first time. plan on taking it out on Sat. or Sunday to see how everything works on the road.
What kinda chip is it again?
Where da booty at?
It was the chip that came with my Falco Fighter cans, no numbers, just said "Falco Fighter" on it.
