i buy a tuono can i have the dealer switch to map 2 when i get it
even befor recoreing the exhaust or adding slip-ons, i mean
will it run ok ,or will it screw something up?? or should i break the
motor in first..... oh ya, dose anybody sell a kit to mount the stock exhaust cans like the high mount leo-vance slip-ons????

    At the mo......

....I have the Leo's on the standard map as the dealer kept f_cking around with the axe-one as in flat so it needed recharging & had to download the 2nd map from the internet blah blah so I took it home on the standrd map. It's actually not running too badly, although I will say the 2nd map is needed but it is livable the way it is.If you want to know what will fit an 06 Tuono, well pretty much whatever a RSV Mille 04/05 will take then so will a Tuono/06.

Version 2 is simply a factory update, we upload it to rsv's that are in for a service if the customer requests it, or if its a very early model we switch it to V2 anyway as the basic map is very crude. Will run better in V2 than V1 although it Dosn't add any extra power but will make the bike more rideable and enables smoother running.

If you ask nicely a dealer would put it on V2 for you while its being PDI'd.

i thought the 06 tuono had 2 maps already loaded,
map 1 is the closed loop map and the 2nd is a open loop map....

yes that is correct but unfortuneatly only a dealer can switch the maps from closed to open loop. it is with a shop/diag tool called the Axone

I have the Akrapovic cans with removable baffle which I want to fit myself. The bike has just done 500 miles and I plan to get it remapped when it put it in for its first service. Will I damage anything by riding it without the remap?

the bike will run a little lean but it shouldnt cause any damage if just a short term mod, one thing to keep an eye on is the color of the inside of the exhaust pipe (just inside the outlet cap). if it turns an 'ash white' then it means the bike is running very very lean.

Thanks for the info, I'll book it into the dealer & get it remapped as soon as I can. One more thing, will I benefit from fitting a Power Commander or will it be a waste of money with the correct map installed?
