    70cc vs. 50cc

So now that the 70cc kits for the SR50 ditech are almost here, I'd like to know what sort of experiences people with the carbureted SR50 had after they upgraded their scoots to 70cc. Was it worth it? How much faster does it go? How much better is the acceleration?

I'm pretty happy with my SR50 ditech, but if I can tweak a little more out of it, then I might do it.

    50 vs 70

A 70cc doesn't HAVE to give you more top speed.

If the 70cc doesn't rev more than your 50cc did, it will go as fast. High revving cilinders do give more top sppred.

What a 70cc does (in al cases) is give you more torque/(and?) bottem power.

Since it can burn more fuel per cycle it will give you more power.

With the increased power, it allows you to put in a larger gearing. This will give you more top speed.

Well it has more power but speed only if you put other parts...

    Thanks for the info.

So, does the extra torque mean better acceleration? More power up hills? And if you change the gearing, how much faster can you go?

if itsa LC 50 just port the stock cylinder and with pipe and gear do 70mph -- also 50s are very smooth at high rpm --if its AC better get a 70cc alum kit because they are so cheap --

I wouldn't call an AC Evo 70 as being cheap.

Well at least here it's not
