    D220?

Hello, just put a Dunlop D-220 on my ride. Has anyone here done that and if so, how well did it work for performance and life?

Sounds awesome. At the NE expo last weekend there were alot of 240 conversions on jap bikes. Any mods needed to fit it? Got a pic?

He's talking about a model of Dunlop tires. Putting a tire not designed for the bike is for pure asthetics. Otherwise makes your bike handle like grandpa's old wheel barrel with a flat

Let's hope his Tuono isn't going to be as agile as a chopper...

You, sir, are correct. It's a sport touring tire, and I'm trying to find out if it will work well for good tire life and adequate handling on the Touno. It's a 180 size instead of the stock 190.

i have heard good things about the 220's. Nothing specific to Tuono's though. I just switch to Pirelli Syncs in the 180 rear. The 180 makes it steer much quicker. The 190 was so square it would fall in on the corners. Can't say too much about the Syncs. Only got to ride maybe 50 miles before I put her away.

    Thumbs up Question answered

I guess I answered my own question on this one. Went on my first long ride on the D220 rear and I'm thuroughly impressed. I expected the steering to be quicker as I went from a 190 to a 180 size, but the opposite seems to be true. This tire made the bike feel more stable. Got into the twisties and had no problem at my personal limit with grip. Remains to be seen how much life I can get out of the tread.

I had D220's on a CBR1100xx, and they were fine tires for most riding. Knee down speeds were not a problem, although they will let go sooner than say, the D208's they got replaced with. The D220 on the front cupped after 4000 miles, but then the XX is probably 120 lbs heavier than the tuono.
