    Experienced help required pls

My carburetor is leaking fuel. I have narrowed it down to the two areas shown in the picture. The nut that covers the black cap over the fuel filter appears to be on tight enough. I've had the carb off and cleaned the inside areas. Any ideas on what to do?
(its NOT leaking from the hole in the second image)

bets to take the base off and look at the jets and look in the float bowl for shit of any kind...sounds as though it coming from the over flow .....also be careful with the floats ...and check the float height of them...

what kind of sealant would you use? is that the type you'd use in a bathroom?

Are you sure the carb is not leaking from the small black overflow tube?

Mine occassionally leaks fuel when I turn the fuel tap ON (from this tube).

I just tap the carb with a screw driver to dislodge any dirt, etc and it seems to be ok.

People recommended to me that I take apart the carb and clean it with carb cleaner and check the float was not getting stuck.

i dismantled the carb n cleaned it. The fuel leak is definately from the main fuel line. I'm considering cutting an inch off the cable (maybe its split???) But its definatly leaking from the boxed areas.

where would you buy a new black cap?

maybe its related : the bike has recently started to just bog down and die, requiring the choke to be applied to get the engine started again. Is the carb supplying too much fuel, too little fuel? What does the black knob do? What does the silver screw do? ie which one is the mixer?

    black screw is the idle
if u need to put the choke on that means that there is not enough fuel geeting in.. which makes sense because half of it is leaking out!

I'd give your float bowl a good clean you could have a sticky float needle and the fuels running out of the over flow. Failing that check the gaskets are sealing right.
