Without the modifications to the CDI it can still make full power but its just so much more ridable with the modification done. You don't have to wait for the revs to slowly creep up or slip the clutch.
I modded mine the day after I got the bike and it made a big difference but it wasn't until I rode an rs125 that didn't have it done that I realised just how huge the difference was as I'd got used to the revs just flying up but then on this other bike I set of then went to "accelerate enthusiastically" and it hit the enviromental dip and I thought the bike was fooked, then i realised what it was.

I was told there was 3 restriction areas on the RS, Zorst Electrics and engine

ive replaced the Zorst so no more restriction there, ill buy a Race CDI if thats where the electrical restriction is ... and i guess the garage is where i take it for the engine.

The thing is tho ... will this solve the problem where i open the throttle up and then the powervalve kicks in with an all mighty WAM! because ive ridden my mates and his seems to not have that WAM its just fucking fast!

i havn't ridden a rs with no powervalve but i will presume rs' with or without powervalve willl be the same up to 8krpm when suddenly the rs' with powervalve will just suddenly get that burst of speed the powervalve provides
nev mate i wouldnt get a race cdi with just a racing exhaust, they are most suitable for bikes with 34mm carbs and vforce reed blocks (craig will tell you this for definite mate)

sounds about the right speed for a nbike with no powervalve nev.... things to do...
    a) find out if u have a powervalve (search) if you do, find out how to connect it
    b) if you dont have a powervalve... buy one!

Ull still get a surge of power Neville even without a powervalve, as its a 2 stroke ull be feeling the powerband kicking in.

Doing 84 mph tops does suggest that ur bike is restricted and may not have the powervalve fitted/plugged in.

    Paul.
