    Throttle Bodies compatability.

Since the bikes probably off the track now for a few months because of our lovely weather I'm thinking of popping in a couple of mods.I'm thinking about the throttle bodies(bikes an 02) but wasn't sure what size to go for.
Option 1 is get a set increased to 54mm,option 2 is hunt down a set of edwards 57(unlikely as there very rare).Option 3 is looking most likely fit a set from the 04,but can it be done.
Does any one know how different they are across the engines for fit other than the inside size.Would they fit with out any major problems?

    Cheers Mitch

The only difference I'm aware of for the 04 bodies are that the connectors are different. That is the injection connectors. I'm sure someone like clarkie would know for sure.

I have 55mm ones (Australian made), on my Falco, and they work a treat, with a PCIII usb and custom map.

Hoh, Hum, another shitty day in paradise!

Ken Zeller at Evoluzione can bore yours out to 54mm or 57mm.

My bad, jsut realized you're in the UK. It's still doable, but shipping might be an obstacle.

I emailed Ken Zeller saturday so I'm still waiting on a reply at the momment.I didn't think you could take 51s up to 57 I thought it was only 54mm.I've been thinking about the 57(standard size) just in case I want to get them enlarged later.

That is interesting. I wonder how large you can bore out a 57mm TB? If a 51 can go to 57, could a 57 go to 63mm?

evoluzione have two importers in the uk, rsvr.net and v60.net

both can help you out with that. i would suggest paul from rsvr.net, i've worked with him before, genuinely nice bloke. tell him hello from oliver and kristiaan in belgium.

I've met Paul a couple of times and I've been over to v60 racing before as well.Just really need a defenate answer pretty quickly as I've got the option on a set of 54mm(made up from 51) tommorrow that someone is selling.
54s will be ok but I just want the option of further upgrades later rather than having to keep swapping out parts.I'm going to be keeping this bike as my track tool permanently now so it will be work in progress.

    57mm TBs

I have spoken with Ken about punching my 57s out on my Edwards. No can do without some modifications to fuel ports. The 04 TB's have different design and can be made larger. Unless you have some major mods why would you want bigger TBs? Bigger isnt always better!

an 02 bike without headwork wont benefit from anything bigger than 54mm tb's, the stock 04 heads flow more than a ported set of 02/03 heads and when you are at 54mm with the 02/03 tb's the choke point is in the heads not the tb's

fully ported heads are a different story

    Thanks for the advice .
Ken mailed me back yesterday, the 51's can be punched out to 57's but thats as far as they can go.There was a set of 54's on ebay I was watching that ended today but they went for more money than I have at the momment,so this will have to go on the back burner for the momment.

    Cheers Mitch
